The Crystal Cove Studio was an old abandoned film studio in Crystal Cove. The original Mystery Incorporated repurposed the old Crystal Cove film set into an apocalyptic setting in order to trick Fred Jones Jr. into revealing the location of the planispheric disk.
History[]
Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated[]
Season 2[]
In order to get their hands on the planispheric disk, the original Mystery Incorporated converted the Crystal Cove set at the abandoned film studio into an exact, but dilapidated, replica of the actual town. Brad and Judy then went through plastic surgery in order to fake their identities, with Brad becoming Fake Fred and Judy becoming Old Daphne. Shortly afterwards, Fred Jones found himself in a destroyed and apocalyptic version of Crystal Cove with skeletons everywhere. Just when he starts to think that everyone else is dead (including the other members of the gang), Fred meets an old version of Daphne, who was really Judy in disguise. Old Daphne tells him that the cause of Crystal Cove's destruction is the Planispheric Disk, that sped up time in the town, making everyone age faster and therefore, die faster; and that she is the only survivor of the catastrophe. Old Daphne tells Fred that he needs to find the Planispheric Disk in order to "reverse the process" and save the town. Luckily, Fred caught on to the scheme fairly quickly, and ultimately sent a message to his teammates. After revealing the disk's location, he drove himself and Judy out of the studio lot.

Notes/Trivia[]
- Although the apocalyptic Crystal Cove turned out to be a fake, this particular hoax ominously foreshadowed the series finale, which involved a far more devastating disaster caused by the Evil Entity.
