History[]
Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? (DC Comics)[]
The course manager hosted a tournament at Shady Greens, a golf course notorious for its difficulty, but he and the country club president secretly rigged the eighteenth hole to prevent any golfers from breaking the course record of seventy strokes. They wanted to maintain the golf course's fame as an "impossible" golf course, stopping amateurs from achieving a good score. They rigged the hole with magnets, allowing him to control and divert the balls away from the hole, and he also disguised himself as the ghost of Jack Tickleus, the record holder.
Before the tournament, the manager gloated to the press multiple times about the course's difficulty, vowing that no golfer will break the record. However, when Fred nearly tied the record, the manager controlled Fred's golf ball, causing it to curve away from the hole. Velma became suspicious when all the balls were attracted to Scooby's collar. Mystery Inc. found the control room where they rigged the course, but the manager used the ghost disguise to scare them away, preventing them from entering the control room.
However, Velma met with the chairman of the golf association with her accusations, bringing him to the control room. During the tournament, as Fred attempted the eighteenth hole, the manager and president prepared to rig the course. However, Velma and the chairman entered and caught them both in the act. As the two culprits were formally investigated for their acts, Fred brought his own balls for the eighteenth hole, winning the tournament and breaking the record.
