Eighty years after her death, Nelly Armstrong, a commercial copilot working for Receding Airlines, impersonated Fairheart's ghost to terrorize her own flights, hoping to bankrupt the airline to work for another airline. Mystery Inc., however, worked undercover as flight crew and caught Armstrong for her crimes, as well as pilot Wilbur Orville as an accomplice.
