Continuity[]
- The gang first met Del Chillman in one of the previous DTVs Scooby-Doo! and the Loch Ness Monster.
- Shaggy previously mentioned a run-in with the Abominable Snowman in Scooby-Doo! Pirates Ahoy!.
Production[]
Notes/Trivia[]
- This was the second animated Scooby-Doo film to be filmed in widescreen and high-definition formats, due to TV spots shot in widescreen, although standard Cartoon Network airings and the DVD are in full screen, though not pan and scan as the camera stays directly in the center of the image. However, the film is broadcast in widescreen on Cartoon Network HD.
- It was dedicated to Iwao Takamoto, the original designer of the Scooby-Doo characters.
- It was also the final Scooby-Doo movie Joseph Barbera, co-founder of Hanna-Barbera, worked on before his death, but this and none of the subsequent Scooby-Doo movies have carried a dedication to him, although he does receive one in the computer game, Scooby-Doo! Case File 3: Frights! Camera! Mystery! He was also given one in Warner Bros. Animation's other DTV, Tom and Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale.
- Casey Kasem, a national DJ in real life, did his radio voice in one of the scenes where Shaggy & Scooby worked the weather station.
- Mystery Inc. previously visited Paris, France in the What's New, Scooby-Doo? episode Ready to Scare.
- Shaggy and Scooby lit some dynamite, thinking they're candles. They made the same mistake in the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! episode Mine Your Own Business.
- A calendar in Del's weather station lists the month as July.
- Del and Minga do not appear in the next DTV Scooby-Doo! and the Goblin King. It is possible that they had decided to move to Paris, France after helping rescue Fred from the Amazon jungle.
Miscellaneous[]
- Disguises: Shaggy as Santa Claus, Scooby as a reindeer; Shaggy as a Inuit fisherman, Scooby as a seal; Shaggy and Scooby hiding under igloos; Shaggy as French waiter, Scooby as chef; Scooby and Shaggy as snowman; Scooby as boxer, Shaggy as boxing trainer.

Adaptations[]
- Scholastic published two versions: One a novel-type and another 8x8 version.
- DC Comics did a comic book adaptation.
- Professor Jeffries' first name is given as "Robinson".
Cultural references[]
- The High Lama is a parody of the Dalai Lama. The idea of a "High Lama" was also done previously in Hanna-Barbera's The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest episode Expedition to Khumbu.
- Shangri-La is a place described in the 1933 novel Lost Horizon by James Hilton.
- Alphonse LaFleur's fall and survival may be a reference to Yukon Cornelius's fall from the 1964 TV special Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, considering both were technically saved by a yeti.
- Harry and the Hendersons, the 1987 novelty film which revolves around the Yeti's North American "cousin" Bigfoot, may be an important influence. Alphonse LaFleur goes through essentially the same character arc as Harry's nemesis Jacques LaFleur.
Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches[]
- Del, Fred and Velma were driving in a snowstorm but when Del puts on the breaks and slows down to avoid falling off the edge of a cliff, the falling snow and the storm suddenly disappeared.
Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities[]
- Technically, "Sherpa" shouldn't be considered Pemba and Minga's last name. This comes from the fact that the Sherpa people only have a first name, and put down "Sherpa" as a last name in census forms, not realizing that others outside of their own community also only used a first name.
- The couple who walk past the café at the beginning of the film, are also at the end of the film, this time strolling a baby along, even though the woman wasn't pregnant the first time, and not much time had passed while the gang were in the Himalayas.
- Their baby may have been left with a sitter the first time.
- Shaggy and Scooby discover Shangri-La, a legendary place whose existence should be of Earth-shaking importance, then walk out of it and apparently forget about it.
- When climbing on a rope up high, Scooby throws a snowball at the Abominable Snowman's face, however there was no snow around in the sky for him to create the snowball with.
- It's not possible for the gang to travel from Paris to the Himalayas by van in less than a day.
