Chess is a two-player strategy board game played on a chessboard, a checkered gameboard with sixty-four squares arranged in an 8x8 board, with each player beginning of sixteen pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. Each side's pieces are usually either black or white and there are no rules as to who plays which color. The goal of the game is for each player to try and take all the pieces down until only the queen is left.
