Bubby, a criminal mastermind, hired freelance operative Minus to break into the laboratory and steal a thumb drive with information. British secret service agent Jenny Vex was also sent to the laboratory to intercept the mission and secure the thumb drive. However, Minus overpowered her, and though Jenny Vex was initially able to take the thumb drive, she set off an explosive launching her out a window and causing her to land on the Mystery Machine. Minus later took the thumb drive from her and captured her, bringing her to Bubby's headquarters.
