Carl Steven was a former child actor who voiced the junior high version of Freddy Jones on A Pup Named Scooby-Doo. He had on-screen roles on Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and as a young Spock on Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. In 1996 before his retirement, he had a brief recurring role on the Weird Science TV series.
Steven died due to a heroin overdose while in prison in 2011, at the age of 36.[1] He was sentenced to thirteen years for armed robbery in 2009, after he became addicted to prescription medications after a tonsillectomy and stole to support his addiction.[2]
