The caretaker worked at the Thraber Estate, the mansion of the late Charles M. Thraber.

Physical appearance[]

The caretaker is a thin, balding Caucasian male with brown hair and an Amish beard. He wears a light green quarter-button tunic with dark grey pants and suspenders. He also wears brown boots, is seen holding a broom, and stands with a slight hunchback.

Personality[]

The caretaker was presented as a stereotypical grumpy old man; he not only aggressively shoos people away from the mansion, he also curses Mystery Inc. and wishes harm on them. His aggressive demeanour led Mystery Inc. to suspect him, and rightfully so, as he was revealed to be a greedy treasure hunter who resorted to crimes to keep others away from his site of operations.

Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?[]

Season two[]

The caretaker worked for the Thraber Estate, the uninhabited mansion of the late treasure collector Charles M. Thraber. The caretaker watched as Thraber's treasures, which had been acquired illegally, were returned to their rightful owners, except for the golden ceiling of Francesi Palace, which remained hidden under a layer of plaster. Upon hearing of the treasure, the caretaker intended to extract the ceiling and sell it in the black market. To keep visitors from discovering his operations, he disguised himself as Thraber's ghost.

Caretaker unmasked (The Internet on Haunted House Hill!)

The caretaker unmasked.

When Mystery Inc. and internet personality Liza Koshy appeared to film a video, the caretaker used the ghost disguise in an attempt to scare them away. He appeared to them to warn them about the ghost, wishing harm on Mystery Inc. This led Velma to suspect him of posing as the ghost. He also disguised himself as a pizza delivery man to further warn them about the ghost. However, he fell into a trap as the ghost; when he stepped into the marked location, Fred used a jackhammer on the walls and caused the ceiling to crumble, revealing the golden ceiling under the plaster and capturing the caretaker under a pile of rubble. He was then unmasked, exposed, and handed over to authorities for his crimes.
