Captain Guzman was a garbage-barge captain.
Physical appearance[]
Guzman is an elderly man with gray hair and is slightly overweight. He wore a blue hat and jacket and a red sweater.
Personality[]
Despite Guzman being friendly enough to save Mystery Inc., he was somewhat rude to them and didn't tell them any specifics of what he was doing. This shadiness made him a suspect.

Season one[]
The gang went into the Coliseum in Pompeii, where Guzman, disguised as Caesar Saladicus, ordered the Zombie Gladiator (Ugo DiRinaldi in disguise) to chase after the gang through Pompeii on their mopeds, until they were ran off into the ocean. Captain Guzman happened to be there with his garbage boat to pick them up. He was surprised by their encounter with the gladiator and covered up some of the unique garbage he had. He was later discovered to be using a dump truck to pile some artifacts into Mount Vesuvius for DiRinaldi, Vice President of the Scungimondo Corporation, who used a generator to rise the lava above them. Shaggy Rogers unsuccessfully tried to trick Guzman into thinking he was the gladiator, but when he failed, the real gladiator showed up, but was knocked out by Fred. This panicked Guzman as DiRinaldi was the only one able to turn off the generator. Guzman insisted they wake him, but the gang attempted to shut it off themselves, which wasn't working until Daphne Blake kicked it. Guzman was helping DiRinaldi to get illegally excavate and dump artifacts from sites in Italy that the Scungimondo Corporation weren't able to otherwise build on. Alexandra Viggi summoned the police, which included Fabbricini, to arrest Guzman and DiRinaldi.
