A haunting need for images
Things need cleaning up!
A running gag is that sometimes the various incarnations of Scooby-Doo and Shaggy Rogers need to be bribed with Scooby Snacks in order to investigate a spooky house or such. Shaggy and Scooby will generally refuse at first, with one of the other characters convincing them by saying, "Would you do it for a Scooby Snack?"
A few times, Shaggy gets bribed by a Shaggy Snack when he won't be conned by Scooby Snacks.
Variations[]
In the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? episode "Never Ape an Ape Man", Velma bribed Scooby with a few Scooby Snacks, plus a bonus one, if he acted as bait for the Ape Man. Shaggy stated that Scooby Snacks wouldn't work on him that time, leading to Daphne to offer him the first (production-wise) "Shaggy Snack": a pot pie made with pizza crust, that featured cherries, pepperonis, anchovies and all in a thick chocolate sauce which Shaggy (and even Scooby) was delighted by and eagerly agreed to be bait.
In an episode of A Pup Named Scooby-Doo titled "The Return of Commander Cool", Daphne tried to bribe Scooby with a Scooby Snack as usual, but Shaggy, who had amnesia and, due to them being in cosplay, thought he was Commander Cool and Scooby was Mellow Mutt, asked why he'd want one, so Daphne gave Scooby a "Mellow Mutt Munchie" instead.
In another Pup Named Scooby-Doo episode, "The Computer Walks Among Us", Scooby refused to go into the school basement, even for a Scooby Snack, but promised to do it when Velma told him how much it would mean to her.
In another Pup Named Scooby-Doo episode, "Dawn of the Spooky Shuttle Scare", Daphne bribes Shaggy and Scooby with Scooby Snacks. Scooby accepts, but not Shaggy, so she offers him a Shaggy Snack, which he accepts.
In a third episode Pup Named Scooby-Doo episode, “Curse of the Collar", Scooby turns down the offer of Scooby Snacks because that he'll go after the Ghost of Buster McMuttMauler solely for his parents.
In the What's New, Scooby-Doo? episode, "It's All Greek to Scooby", Daphne tries to bribe Shaggy and Scooby with Scooby Snacks to go into a labyrinth. However, the Scooby Snacks were in her purse, which was gone, so they had to go in for nothing.
In another What's New, Scooby-Doo? episode, "A Terrifying Round with a Menacing Metallic Clown", Daphne bribes Scooby with a Scooby Snack, and tries to bribe Velma, who was afraid to investigate due to her clown phobia, with one also. Velma refused, so Daphne instead bribed her with an encyclopedic CD, which succeeded.
In another What's New, Scooby-Doo? episode, "Lights! Camera! Mayhem!", when Velma was nervous about performing a stunt dive off a building, Daphne offered her a Scooby Snack to try and get her to cooperate, which leads Velma to glare irritatedly at her.
In the What's New, Scooby-Doo? episode "Fright House of a Lighthouse", Fred convinces Shaggy and Scooby to act as bait by telling them that the Creepy Keeper said Scooby Snacks were disgusting and that he wouldn't eat them even if no other snacks existed; this gets them riled up enough to be bait without the Scooby Snacks bribe (Fred also privately admits to Velma and Daphne this is one tactic he's wanted to use for a while).
