Brett Hull is the captain of a United States hockey team that played in the Moscow Invitational Hockey Tournament. He was wrongly accused of posing as the Frozen Fiend, but was released after Mystery Inc. proved his innocence.
Physical appearance[]
Hull is a tall, muscular American man with short blond hair. He wears a hockey uniform both on the rink and off. His jersey is red, white and blue and shows a simplified rendition of the American flag. He also wears a red helmet, red shorts with white stripes on the side, blue socks with red and black stripes, and black ice skates.
Personality[]
In contrast to the much more aggressive Russian team captain Nicolai, Hull is cordial and sportsmanlike, treating his fans such as Mystery Inc. respectfully. While Nicolai gloats when Hull is wrongly arrested, Hull does not demonstrate such animosity towards his opponents. He also demonstrates heroism as he rescues Shaggy and Scooby while confronting the Frozen Fiend in a physical altercation.

What's New, Scooby-Doo?[]
Season three[]
Hull led the American team in the Moscow Invitational Hockey Tournament, but it became terrorized by the Frozen Fiend, the supposed ghost of an exiled hockey player, who stole the diamond-encrusted trophy, the Emperor's Cup. The Russian team captain, Nicolai, accused Hull of plotting the attacks to avoid his loss in the game, which Hull denied. When Mystery Inc. arrived at the scene, Hull explained the attack to them, starting their investigations. Later, when Shaggy and Scooby were attacked by the Frozen Fiend while investigating, Brett rescued them, warding the monster away and confirming his innocence to Mystery Inc.
The Emperor's Cup was eventually found by authorities with the diamonds removed. However, because Inspector Malpumpkin found Hull's jersey at the scene, he saw this as enough evidence to order Hull's arrest. Nicolai gloated in front of Mystery Inc. that the American team would lose without Hull as the team captain. Hull was finally released after Mystery Inc. proved his innocence, exposing figure skater Galina Korzhakov as the true culprit.
