For the storyboard artist, see Bob Taylor (storyboard artist).
Bob Taylor was a baseball commentator, and a retired baseball player. He disguised himself as the ghost of Cab Craig to stop baseball pitcher Luis Santiago from breaking Craig's record.
Physical appearance[]
Bob is a middle-aged man with a square jaw, large nose and short light brown hair. He wears a black suit over a blue button-down and a tie with a darker shade of blue.
Personality[]
At first glance, Bob is very accepting of the fact he was fired from baseball, as he went into various jobs as a living without problem. He has a however a strange logic of honoring the memory of his former teammate, the late Cab Craig, whom he considered to be his best friend, by dressing up as Craig's ghost to keep Luis Santiago from breaking Craig's record. He was also shown to be quite ruthless, being willing to harm people to achieve this.
History[]
Early life[]
Before he was fired, he was on the same major-league team as Cab Craig and considered him as his best friend. He was not accepted into any other teams, so he had to get other jobs such as a house painter, piano teacher, and even a stint as a dog groomer. He eventually settled on being a baseball commentator.
What's New, Scooby-Doo?[]
Season one[]
Bob Taylor disguised himself as the ghost of Cab Craig to prevent pitcher Luis Santiago from breaking Craig's home run record at the Cookie Co. International Park. Posing as the ghost, he attempted to threaten Santiago, but when he continued the game anyway, the ghost decided to attack the game; he threw flaming baseballs by soaking them in kerosene, and he sabotaged the lightbulbs to burst using a generator. His attack forced the stadium to postpone the game until the following day. During the investigation, Mystery Inc. found his trading card in his booth, indicating his batting average.

Taylor unmasked.
The ghost was later seen attacking Shaggy and Scooby in the abandoned Potters Stadium, which the current stadium was built on top of. Later, he attempted to open the stadium's retractable roof, allowing rain to ruin the stadium to prevent the game from occurring. However, the game occurred anyway, and the ghost attempted to attack Santiago, but fell into a trap prepared by Mystery Inc. Taylor's unmasking was taped on the stadium's Jumbotron, watched by the audience, and he was later handed over to the authorities for his crimes.
Appearances[]
Notes/trivia[]
- He and the Baseball Specter are left-handed, while Cab was right-handed.
- He used to teach the piano; the Baseball Specter was briefly seen playing a organ.
- He is one of the few culprits to have their name shouted by someone other than any of Mystery Inc. — in this case, the spectators.
