Season four[]

Bernice Binder unmasked

Bernice unmasked.

The gang went to her bookstore in search of clues about the ghost of Mrs. Shusham. She apologized for freaking out in front of them and explained that when the old Coolsville Library closed down she bought a bunch of their books, but the ghost wanted one she didn't have. She assured Shaggy and Scooby-Doo that the ghost won't hurt her, but would haunt them until they die. She fans them with a dinner napkin after they faint, before they took off to find the book they lost.

She was unmasked as the ghost by Shaggy and Scooby, at which time it was revealed that she wanted to steal Shaggy's rare book and sell it to make a lot of money. Afterwards the book Crime and Punishment fell on her head, foreshadowing her eventual arrest.
