Bartholomew Byfard Boo, or Mr. Boo as he prefers, is a real ghost.

Physical appearance[]

He is a transparent, sheet-like ghost with a large red nose and wears a small brown derby hat with an orange streak touching its rim.

Personality[]

He is an extremely friendly and gentle soul. Also, despite being one, he is frightened of ghosts.

History[]

A Pup Named Scooby-Doo[]

Season one[]

He hired the Scooby-Doo Detective Agency to clear his name when BooBeard started causing trouble in his home, so his house wouldn't be torn down and him going down with it.

Appearances[]

Notes/trivia[]

  • When Scooby-Doo sneezes, causing Mr. Boo to lose his sheet, he gets another from the closet. This seems to be a reference to the Ghost Monsters of the PacMan cartoon.
  • Chronologically, Mr. Boo is the first real ghost the gang ever encountered and befriended.
  • Daphne doesn't believe him to be a real ghost at first.
  • His mannerisms and voice are similar to Droopy Dog, another character Don Messick and Frank Welker had voiced.
  • His destiny being tied to the Johnson's estate categorizes him as a bound spirit.
