B.J. Ward , is an American screen and voice actress, singer, author, and former Playboy Bunny. She is the creator and star of "Stand-Up Opera ", a musical one-woman show, as well as being a licensed aviator. Her career in animation voice-over began with the titular, Jana of the Jungle , and went on to voice other characters including, Scarlett on G.I. Joe , Jayna on Superfriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show , Wonder Woman on The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians , Panky and Punkin in Pink Panther and Sons , and both junior high and adult Betty Rubble in various Flintstones productions from the late 80s throughout the 90s.
Ward first voiced Velma Dinkley in a 1997 crossover episode in the Hanna-Barbera -produced Johnny Bravo , where Mystery Inc. helped the titular find his aunt . The following year, she officially became the fifth voice of Velma in the first direct-to-video film, Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island . She continued to voice until 2002, when both Mindy Cohn took over the role of Velma Dinkley and original portrayer, Nicole Jaffe , briefly took over in both Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire and Scooby-Doo! and the Monster of Mexico , respectively.

Ward was married to Hanna-Barbera recording director Gordon Hunt , father of Helen Hunt , from 1995 until his death in 2016.
Ward often wore a turtleneck sweater and glasses during recording sessions to help her get into her character of Velma.
