History[]
The Scooby-Doo Show[]
Season one[]
The gang first encountered the statue when they arrived at the hotel and Shaggy and Scooby were scared by it before Velma informed them it was a statue of an Aztec god. When the gang walked away from it, the statue began to move its head and walk towards them. It approached the Mystery Machine as Scooby was unpacking the luggage, unknowingly throwing it into the statues hands. It roared and Scooby ran away before knocking the rest of the gang into the hotel. It would later enter the hotel and scare Shaggy and Scooby in their room. It chased them around the hotel, just before the gang met Professor Stonehack and Elina Stonehack.
The statue would be seen again in the jungle alongside the river, scaring the gang along with the Ghost of King Katazuma. It would reappear to chase Shaggy and Scooby within the Aztec temple.

Elina Stonehack and her husband unmasked.
It was seen again loading Aztec treasure onto the Phantom Barge, alongside King Katazuma. The gang chased both monsters, as well as being chased by the monster themselves. Both monsters would be caught after the gang placed springs on the feet, causing them both to fall into barrels, and then into the water of the channel, where her identity was revealed, alongside her husbands identity as the ghost of Katazuma.

Notes/Trivia[]
- In the unreleased PlayStation version of Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights, the Aztec Statue Monster is one of the possible enemies in the Major Miner's Mining Town level, the first world programmed in the game, alongside the Ghost of King Katazuma. Unlike most of the past foes in the game, this incarnation takes some creative liberties with its appearance. This version of the Aztec Statue Monster is much bigger and has a color scheme of red, yellow, brown, and white. In the revamp, he was one of the monsters that were eventually scrapped.
