Continuity
- When Shaggy is sleeping, he says "pretty sand-wish". He explained what that is in Revenge of the Swamp Monster!
- In Mystery Inc. Shaggy had expressed an enjoyment of polka music.
Notes/Trivia
- Shaggy announces the celebrity guest in the title card.
- Weird Al previously played himself in the Scooby-Doo segment of the Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode Bat-Mite Presents: Batman's Strangest Cases!
- The episode title is a play on the name of a carnivorous dinosaur from the late Jurassic period, called an Allosaurus. The Allosaursus did look similar to the dinosaurs depicted in the episode, but grew to at least 8 metres long.
- The premise of this episode bares strong resemblance to the Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated episode Battle of the Humungonauts - two brothers dress up as monsters (one green, one reddish) and end up fighting each other as they try to get what they want. In the latter episode's case, it was the Minner brothers destroying properties that the other brother had insured.
Miscellaneous
Cultural references
- When Shaggy plays southpaw, he performs "Flight of the Bumblebee".
- Weird Al sings an adaptation of the folk song "Hush Little Baby".
- The dinosaurs have the roaring sound effects from the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchise.
Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches
- None known.
Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities
- The Dinosaur's size should not fit the Mystery Machine and can have a huge problems fitting the back.
- Shaggy carries with him a concertina instead of an accordion.
