When his idea of being frozen so he could wake up in the future didn't work, it seemed he was going to try [[Acme Cloning Kit|cloning]] himself next. However despite this he seemed generous and considerate when he realized he was needed in the present to help locate little Pete’s family. Because of this it’s possible he wanted to clone himself so that he would have someone to help out while he was in the future.
