Aman Hunt is the eighth episode of the second season of Velma.
Premise[]
Don puts Aman under military house arrest after shutting down his police interrogation. Meanwhile Velma is plotting to embarrass Daphne on the class trip to Sacramento, for kissing Amber. Aman stows away on the bus with information about Project SCOOBI, but Don tracks them down. However, Velma has a new theory about what happened to the project after Edna left it.
Synopsis[]
With a connection made between him and the victims, Donna and Linda interrogate Aman for the crimes. Suddenly, Don interrupts the interrogation, placing Aman on house arrest. While at home, Aman and Amanda admit to Velma that they witnessed Daphne cheating on her with Amber. Devastated, Velma consults the popular girls for help, who suggest confronting her during the bus trip to Sacramento, embarrassing her publicly.
Embarking on the bus, Velma starts getting uncomfortable with what she is planning. Still, she treats Daphne well to deceive her, giving her a package of lotions. Meanwhile, Norville bonds with Lola, but is interrupted by Fred, who is attempting to move on from discovering that his mother was not possessed by a ghost. She is summoned to the bathroom by Aman, revealing he escaped house arrest and snuck onto the bus. Aman gives Velma a flash drive containing the files from Don's computer to print in Sacramento. To prevent Aman from being found, Velma advises the passengers not to enter the bathroom, but the passengers begin gossiping about her, severely damaging her reputation.
In Sacramento, the students begin to tour the museum. Amber attempts to go ghost hunting with Fred, who instead wants to bond with Norville at the amusement park, who is more preoccupied with Lola. Fred finds, to his horror, that the amusement park trip has been excluded from the field trip due to budget cuts. Fred objects to the budget cuts, and Norville, being pushed by Lola, expresses support for Fred. However, it is revealed that Amber pushed Lola using witchcraft, who bumped into Norville.
Meanwhile, in the hallway, Velma confronts Daphne for cheating on her, and Daphne tearfully apologizes, as she intended to admit her wrongdoings during the bus trip. After they reconcile, Velma prints the flash drive's files while Aman reveals his knowledge to her and Daphne. Having met with Mr. S, Aman discovered that all victims worked for Project SCOOBI. However, he learned that one of the soldiers became abusive. Though Aman never identified the soldier, they search the computer files and discover that a soldier in the database is left unnamed. They learn that the soldier hates Fourth of July, likes electronics and wears white sneakers. Aman then privately notes to Velma that Daphne is hiding certain feelings from her. They discover that instead of kissing, Daphne and Amber worked together to place a curse on Velma.
Suddenly, the building is raided by Don, who followed Aman to Sacramento. Aman steals the bus and attempts to escape Don with Velma, Daphne, Norville, and Lola. However, unable to escape the military, Aman has no choice but to pull over. Don explains to them the truth about Project SCOOBI. After Perdue's institutionalization, Project SCOOBI switched focus to pure espionage. One of the operatives, known only by the codename "Uncle Scooby," created a super-soldier, but the soldier went rogue immediately and starting abusing the employees.
Concluding the field trip, Velma and Daphne reconcile, with Daphne apologizing to Velma for placing a curse on her. However, on the bus ride back to Crystal Cove, Velma makes a realization that the killer (the super-soldier) is a dog. This would explain why the killer avoids the Fourth of July (remembering how guard dogs feared the missile explosion), uses electronics (as the dog used the Baby Babble Box), and likes white sneakers (remembering how Fred's dogs destroyed Velma's sneakers). However, as soon as she makes the connection, the bus is attacked and flipped on its side by the killer, and Velma is taken.
