All Paws on Deck is the third episode of season 1 of Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!.
Premise[]
During the gang's cruise ship vacation, they have a run-in with a sea creature hunting for sunken treasure.
Synopsis[]
The gang embarks on the S.S. Casey, a cruise ship owned by Fred's friend, Scott McDoon, despite Velma's fear of water and Daphne's vendetta against dolphins. As they sail in Bribery Bay, however, cruise director Wendy Palloy warns them of the dangers in the water. As Shaggy and Scooby eat at the buffet, Velma overhears Palloy speaking with McDoon about dangerous sea creatures lurking in the ocean. However, as she hears this, Fred and Daphne scuba dive in the sea with dive masters Thorn and Dahlia. They encounter a monster that chases them back onboard the ship.
As the group reunites at the control room, Velma explains a local legend, stating that hostile sea creatures live in the waters, and the sea floor is riddled with valuables thrown overboard by sailors to appease the creatures. Suddenly, the ship jostles and McDoon finds an engine turbine is damaged. Thorn and Dahlia dive to the site to investigate, finding the engines were deliberately unscrewed, but a fish creature attacks and abducts them. The gang enters the Mystery Machine, which transforms into a submarine and dives into the site.
On the sea floor, they find a shiny wrench despite the other tarnished valuables. They also find a trail of doubloons and follow them into a shipwreck. However, as Fred bumps into a piece of debris, a sea creature appears and attacks the vehicle, puncturing it and causing water to flow in. The gang is forced to evacuate in diving suits and chased back to the SS Casey. The severely damaged Mystery Machine is later pulled back onboard.
To prepare a trap for the monster, Daphne settles her hatred against the dolphins and Fred repairs the Mystery Machine. Fred parks the Mystery Machine on the sea floor, luring the monster into appearing, and then a net shoots out, capturing it. However, a second monster appears, and the first monster escapes the net. The dolphins arrive at the gang's aid, but the monsters chase the gang back to the surface. However, Velma, staying onboard the ship, uses a crane to catch both creatures and fish them out of the water.
As the monsters are unmasked, they are revealed to be Thorn and Dahlia, who scavenged the treasures from the sea floor. They relied on McDoon's exclusive rights to the bay to prevent other divers from spotting them. To give themselves more time, they sabotaged the ship's engine and faked their abductions. As Thorn and Dahlia are handed to authorities, the buffet chefs challenge Shaggy and Scooby with more food, while Daphne is confronted by other sea creatures who share their hatred of her.

Continuity[]
- Fred's fear of widths was revealed in the first episode, Mystery 101.
Notes/trivia[]
- The title is a play on the phrase "all hands on deck," which generally means all members need to participate in a certain activity.
- The sea creatures resemble the Beast of Bottomless Lake, from the The Scooby-Doo Show episode The Beast is Awake in Bottomless Lake.
Miscellaneous[]
- Disguises: None.
- Traps: The Mystery Machine shoots out a net to capture the monster (failed); Velma captures the creatures with a crane (impromptu; succeeded)
- Clues: A wrench and a trail of Spanish doubloons.
- Daphne Du Jour: She has a vendetta with dolphins, because she never paid them back the money she owed them. She also is revealed to be at odds with other sea creatures.
- Other running gags: Velma's fear of water, Scott McDoon incorrectly calling the Mystery Machine the "Spooky Van."
Cultural references[]
- This episode's title is a play on the term "All hands on deck", which means every member of the crew are needed to operate the ship. It is often a call made when there is an emergency on board.
- The S.S. Casey is a tribute to Casey Kasem, Shaggy's original voice actor, who died on Sunday, June 15, 2014.
- The scene where Daphne addresses the dolphins is a nod to an iconic scene from the film Titanic (1997).
Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches[]
- None known.
Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities[]
- When Scott McDoon is first changing into a pirate he has a squint in his right eye. However, when he is suddenly seen wearing an eye-patch it is on his good left eye, although the right-eyed squint remains.
- When the gang escapes from the Mystery Machine underwater, they have no trouble opening the rear doors. The water pressure at the bottom of the sea should make the outward opening doors impossible to open while there is still air inside.
- When Daphne throws money into the ocean, the bills sink, but paper should float on water.

Quotes[]
Velma: Ha! Statistics. You're in my house now, son. |
Daphne: Listen dolphins, I know we've had our differences, but it's time to put all this silliness behind us. I'm big enough to admit when I'm wrong, so... here's the $15 I owe you. (Drops money into the water) |
