Scooby Dooby
Scooby-Dooby-Doo
Scooby Dooby
Scooby-Dooby-Doo

There's a mystery in town,
So call the coolest pup around,
Oh, Scooby, a pup named Scooby-Doo

Scooby Dooby Doo, Scooby-Doo

Join Shaggy and the crew,
Daphne, Freddie, Velma, too
And Scooby, a pup named Scooby-Doo

Scooby Dooby Doo, Scooby-Doo

When the ghosts and ghouls attack
Scooby eats a Scooby Snack
Scooby Dooby Doo
Velma: Jinkies

Scooby Dooby
Scooby Dooby
Scooby Dooby
Scooby Dooby

Scooby

So come on it's mystery time
You can help us solve the crime
With Scooby, a pup named Scooby,
Oh, Scooby, a pup named Scooby-Doo
Scooby Dooby Doo, Scooby-Doo
Scooby-Doo, where are you?
Scooby-Doo

Notes/trivia[]

  • The music was written first, then Ruegger added the lyrics.[1]
  • The second to last line of "Scooby-Doo, where are you?", is a reference to the theme song first featured in the original series.
  • It has a similarity to the intro song of the film Little Shop of Horrors, which had become a hit around that time.
  • All of Ruegger's theme songs (such as Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs) have lyrics about the characters, as a simple way of introducing them to the audience.[1]
  • The theme song features five monsters from season 1, including an additional red blob-like monster that jumps out of Scooby's bowl.
  • The singer is not credited in the end credits and it is not known who sang this song. Although it could be assumed that Stew sang the theme song, the musician and member of the band The Negro Problem.
  • The theme song was re-used in The Spirit of Rock'n Roll sang by Buddy Chillner and Purvis Parker at The Coolsville Amphitheatre.
