This article is about the character from the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! episode Mystery Mask Mix-Up. For the incarnation in the video game Scooby-Doo! Unmasked, see Ho Fong.

A. Fong was an oriental art dealer who owned and was also secretly leader of smuggling operations in Chinatown, San Francisco. His base of operations was in the Temple in the Hills, and he disguised himself as the ghost of Zen Tuo (and two of his henchmen as his zombie minions) to scare people, who got curious about the old temple, away.

Physical appearance

Mr. Fong is a middle-aged (or older) Asian male. He has no hair on top of his head, while what remains around it is black. Fong wears a dark grey shirt and pants, with red accents on the collar, cuffs, and shirt front. He also wears black socks and red shoes.

Fong appeared to be friendly, when giving the gang a "friendly warning" about the mask in their possession. In reality, this was a façade to his true nature as the ring leader of an international smuggling operation. It can be suggested that he has a short temper, given that he grumbled angrily at his henchman for their foul up after they were captured and unmasked and his plans were exposed. Furthermore, considering his willingness to blow up a storeroom full of fireworks with Shaggy and Scooby trapped inside, it can also be suggested that he had a ruthless determination to keep his operations under wraps with no regards to the well-being of others.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!

Season two

A. Fong unmasked.

He used golden masks to hide his shipping dates and had them sent for him from outside the country, but one of them was accidentally sent to a curio shop and bought by Daphne Blake. He sent his disguised henchmen to get it back, but they were thwarted by Scooby-Doo. The gang then went to him (the only oriental art dealer in town) to see if he knew why the zombie pair wanted it. He tried to scare them with a story that the mask had been stolen from Zen Tuo's crypt and he wanted it back. He then sent his henchmen after them resulting in a car chase which ended with Daphne kidnapped and the mask stolen. When the gang found his hiding place, he and his henchmen were eventually caught and brought to justice, to be taken away by Inspector Lu.

  • Although he is always referred to as "Mr. Fong", the first letter in his first name is shown on a sign at the top of his shop.
