Also at the end before he was arrested he learned that students are all equal and no student is better than the other so after spending a few years in jail he’ll be released for good behavior and having had a change of heart

@Richard Tucker i don't think so. i've seen the film dozens of times before. at the end when he was arrested, he stated the reason behind the scheme and that reason was that Professor Kaufman chose Eric's video game design over his even though he had been at the university two years longer. Professor Kaufman then gave his input by telling him that "students are all equal", but even after he told him that, he still didn't regret bringing the Phantom Virus into existence and trapping the gang inside the video game.

just as he's being hauled off to prison by Officer Wembley, he stated that the prize would've been all his if it weren't for the gang's interference.

that goes to show that he's one of those people in the world who doesn't deserve a second chance or and sort of redemption whatsoever.
